Welcome to Nursery
We have some new children in the nursery this term. Welcome to our new families, the children are settling very well.
The nursery children are adapting well to new routines well and enjoying getting to know one another. We are encouraging children’s self-help skills where they are doing a great job at putting on their coats and taking care to put them away independently.
The children are exploring all areas of the environment and following their own interests. This half term children engaged well with our ‘imaginative stories’ topic. This linked in well with our book week and gave children a fantastic opportunity to pair read with year 4. They especially liked spending time looking at books, playing turn taking games and acting out experiences in the home corner.
In nursery we love being outdoors, this has a positive impact on children’s sense of well-being and helps all aspects of children’s development. It gives children first-hand experiences to explore the natural world and provides a space for children to be physically active. This half term we have been focusing on noticing features of our environment and have particularly enjoyed our ‘windy day’ box.
We hold weekly stay and play sessions where you will have the opportunity to spend time with your child at the start of their nursery session. During this time the children will be making independent learning choices that you will be able to join in with. We are offering the following session times and hope you will be able to attend one. If you are unable to attend one of these sessions please feel free to ask a grandparent, child-minder or other adult to join us. Session times have changed and are now available: Wednesday 8.50am – 9.20am and Wednesday 12:20pm – 12:50pm
New stay and play times will begin on Wednesday 24th April.
